Inspired Selection

Here. There. And Everywhere.

Inspired SelectionWe cruise internationally for different reasons. Some of us go to learn about new cultures, some for inspiration and enrichment and others for a stress-free getaway. From adding distinct destinations and abbreviated cruises to our vacation portfolio to creating themed travel and pre- and post-cruise combination opportunities, we’ve put together more than 120 all-inclusive experiences to fit luxury and budget-focused travelers, Boomers, GenXers and families wanting to experience Europe, Egypt, China, Southeast Asia and the Galápagos Islands.

In addition to giving cruisers more “suite” options in Europe with a trio of Suite Ships in 2012, to meet demand for exotic cruises, Avalon Waterways is preparing to invite travelers aboard three new ships on four new itineraries in the Egypt and Southeast Asia.

In Southeast Asia, Avalon Waterways will unveil the Avalon Angkor on the Mekong River in 2012. Named after Angkor Wat and featuring only 16 staterooms, this is the first - and only - passenger ship built to cruise all the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap, exclusively eliminating seven hours of drive-time on land for travelers. Aboard the Angkor, Avalon takes cruisers to difficult-to-reach villages, providing them a unique experience with immersive access into the diverse cultures and histories found in Vietnam and Cambodia.

Designed and constructed by traditional craftsmen, the Avalon Ankor has a colonial charm and is hand-finished in brass and teak. This ship delivers an amazing indoor/outdoor experience for cruisers. Its Avalon Deluxe Staterooms measure 172-square feet and open to the outside with floor-to-ceiling, sliding glass doors and balconies, so cruisers will never miss the passing scenery.

Avalon Waterways will sail the Avalon Angkor on a NEW 14-day Fascinating Vietnam, Cambodia & The Mekong River itinerary from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok (priced from $3,459).

In 2012, Avalon Waterways is also enhancing our cruising experience in Egypt by chartering the MS Mayfair, a five-star ship that is one of the newest vessels on the Nile today and the MS Kasr Ibrim. Named after the ancient citadel, this deluxe ship sails Lake Nasser – a new waterway for Avalon. With these ships come three NEW Egypt itineraries: 9-day Highlights of Egypt (priced from $2,606); 12-day The Pyramids, Lake Nasser & Nile Highlights (starting at $3,441) and 13-day Egypt & the Nile in Depth (priced from $3,538).

And, thanks to increased demand for “passion travel,” in 2012, Avalon Waterways is expanding our popular wine-, music- art- and holiday-vacations to include legacy themes with a NEW Jewish Heritage and NEW European History & Politics cruises.

For travelers interested in a shorter cruise, we offer a “cruise-only” option that allows them a full cruise experience in a shorter getaway package. Avalon Waterways is also the only river cruise company to offer travelers a “taste” of river cruising with four- and five-day A Taste of the Danube itineraries, priced under $1,000.

For many of our cruise clients, the vacation just doesn’t feel complete without adding a pre- or post-stay in one of Europe’s amazing cities. And, thanks to Avalon’s relationship with Monograms (the independent travel arm of the Globus family of brands), we can easily extend exploration and enrichment opportunities for our travelers with pre- and post-night stays in a plethora of destinations.

With nearly 100 percent of our Avalon Waterways passengers stating that we’ve met or exceeded their expectations, it’s clear that we care about the little things that make a big difference.
